FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you freedom to move. Yoga is traditionally practised bare foot but please have shoes/socks for when you are moving to and from your mat.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring with you your own mat, this is the most hygienic way to practice. Always have a bottle of water with you and feel free to bring any props you find useful.

What style of Yoga do you teach?

Vinyasa Yoga is a style of Yoga that is characterised by stringing a series of postures together and moving between them in rhythm with the breath.

What are the benefits of Yoga?

There are a vast amount of benefits to Yoga. Some of these include; increased strength, stability, flexibility and mobility, improved posture, supports heart health, enhance your energy levels, reduce stress and anxiety, cultivate self-awareness, lowers blood pressure, reduce weight. This list is not, however, exhaustive and will be dependant on the individual. I suggest trying a class and experiencing the benefits for yourself.

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a discipline which originates from India and uses breathing techniques, exercise and meditation. The exercise element of Yoga has become very mainstream in Western culture and this consists of a of poses (called asanas) which are linked together in a sequence. There are many different schools of Yoga which have different focuses.

Georgina Yoga teaches Vinyasa Flow Yoga, which emphasises fluidly moving from one asana to the next in time with the breath.

Do I need to be flexible to practice Yoga?

No. Yoga helps to improve flexibility but also focuses on strength and stability as well. Yoga is for everyone, no matter how flexible you are. 

What can I expect from your class?

The practice will generally begin by connecting to the breath before gradually building energy through a sequence of poses. This will then wind down to end with Savasana which is the final resting pose.

Do you cater for beginners?

Yes, all abilities are welcome. There are constant options given throughout the practice to suit everyone's experience and everyone's needs for any given day.

If a course is already underway, you are welcome to book a drop in spot.

Do I need to book or can I just turn up?

At the moment, spaces are limited so booking is essential. Booking will close either when class is full or right before the class.
